expand BTAS Cyber Technology Center (CTC)
Cyber Technology Center (CTC)
The BTAS CTC is an information-technology center located at BTAS’ corporate headquarters near Wright-Patterson AFB in Beavercreek, Ohio. Its mission is to identify state-of-the-art cyber tools and techniques that could benefit BTAS’ and our customers’ operations, and to test and recommend the best for deployment.  The CTC has already enabled BTAS to deploy cyber-based portals for the USAF, Army, NASA, and EPA as well as BTAS. As cyber warfare becomes an ever-greater concern, this innovative technology investment will become a growing component of the business and technical solutions that BTAS provides.
 
Our CTC team consists of professional practitioners each of whom has between 5 and 25 years of hands-on experience supporting DoD and commercial cyber technologies. All of them are certified according to DoD 8570.01-M at all the levels of management and technical requirements. Their certifications include Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) A+, Security+, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA), CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Operations Security (OPSEC), Communications Security (COMSEC), and InfoSec. Information Technology professionals further acquired information assurance (IA) training. The CTC is a Microsoft Gold Partner and has been awarded Microsoft Competencies in Security, Networking Infrastructure, and Advanced Network Solutions.

  • Test bed for evaluating commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products (e.g., Symantec, Forefront, Microsoft Windows Servers and operating systems, MS Office Enterprise products, SQL, Exchange, and SharePoint servers)

expand Engineering Support
BTAS works with its customers to provide sterling engineering support.  BTAS provides cross programming for system engineering analysis and different technical architectures.  BTAS provides developmental test and evaluation (DT&E) and operational test and evaluation (OT&E) support.  The BTAS engineering professionals are developing test procedures, testing software modifications, and generating test reports, tracking defects, and performing configuration management.
 
Our experienced professionals are knowledgeable in documenting test requirements, data requirements, and research and development test and evaluation planning such as T&E Master Plan development.  BTAS engineers are capable of creating, reviewing and evaluating computer-based training documentation. BTAS works with its customers to determine future platform requirements and to establish requirements determination ground rules and direction.    
expand Financial Management
BTAS provides first-rate financial management support to its customers.  Whether the work requires use of industry-standard program or developing specialized financial tools, our financial professionals will do what it takes to supply useful metrics, tracking, and analysis capabilities.  BTAS is experienced in determining resource “burn rates” and hour tracking, and Earned Value Management reporting.  Using our SharePoint 2003 web portal called “The Bridge,” we are able to automate a number of financial functions.  For instance, BTAS has implemented an automated travel funding process wherein all travel requests, reporting, and settlements are handled electronically through our BTAS Internet/Intranet portal.  These automated processes result in savings for our customers. 
 
Using our JAMIS invoicing and reporting system, we maintain strict cost management controls and provide all cost reports to our customers on time, allowing timely budget decisions to maximize limited funding.  Our cost management processes result in the mitigation of cost overruns.

BTAS provides its customers with a range of information technology competencies.  Our professionals possess a wealth of experience in today’s state-of-the-art hardware and software.  Database development and administration, Network design and maintenance, systems administration support, and LAN/WAN Service Delivery Point Management are just a few of the capabilities available to BTAS customers.
 
If the job requires a specialty program, our professionals stand ready to provide excellent software development, modification, integration and maintenance services.  BTAS is also experienced in database migration and legacy system modernization and will work to ensure your IT infrastructure is current with today’s technology. 
expand Project Management
BTAS uses top Project Managers, and the latest management tools to provide is customers with excellent project management. Using our Cyber Technology Center (CTC) Internet/Intranet Portal, our professionals manage key employee administration functions such as time cards, annual evaluations, and travel arrangements. Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists, Statements of Work, funding trackers/reports, and employee records and evaluations are all maintained through the BTAS Portal and are readily available to our management team twenty-four hours a day, 7 days a week. All Team Lead and Project Manager has their own portal site and authorization for granting access by their respective team members. The portal sites contain team libraries used to keep employees informed of BTAS corporate matters, changes in policies, team member leave, and other management and communications tools. These tools and functions can be spcialized by the Team Lead and Project Manager to meet the requirements of the project. The BTAS Portal is also a value-added technology information and distribution resource that allows BTAS to leverage its technical capability across the corporate enterprise, both locally and nationally.
 
BTAS follows strict and documented quality control procedures for all deliverables. We employ acquisition and program analysis personnel, IT specialists, and acquisition security specialists to provide our customers with work that is both secure and of the highest quality.
expand Resource Management
BTAS employs acquisition management and logistics professionals adept in improving resource management.  These professionals comprise teams, each with a Team Lead reporting to the Project Manager, designed to evaluate resource use. This structure improves the span of control for the Project Managers and Team Leads and aides in the allocation of resources for each task, thereby enabling BTAS to respond to travel needs, day-to-day operations, and periods of “surge.". Our Project Managers and Team Leads are on-site analysts and engineers who work side-by-side with their respective team member.  The result is enhanced communication between BTAS management and employees.
 
Our use of national recruiting firms and our superior compensation plan enabled us to secure the very best possible employees.  We initiated a corporate mentoring program  to provide job enrichment, cross training, and back-up personnel during surge requirements. Through mentoring and cross training, we have instituted a successful “promotion from within our ranks concept.”  We have a greater than 71 percent success rate of filling new vacancies by promoting current employees .

Working hand in hand with the customer, BTAS can advise and assist in establishing compliant infrastructure requirements supporting classified and sensitive information environments based upon all applicable federal directives.  We provide an extensive capability in the developing (writing) of security classification guides, as well as formal derivative classification and sensitive information review and document marking services on either a routine or sprint (backup) basis.
 
The BTAS corporate office includes a federally approved secure facility with classified handling and storage capability up to the SECRET level.  BTAS also holds an approved communications security COMSEC account to enable federally approved encrypted transmission of classified matter up to the SECRET level – if required.  A cleared and trained courier for hand carrying classified matter between the BTAS Secure Facility and the customer location(s) is also available.
 
BTAS offers the expertise to develop customized information security (InfoSec) policy and procedure libraries addressing specific classified/sensitive information operating envelops as required by the customer.  BTAS generates customized InfoSec orientation and continuing education training modules as well as InfoSec awareness products for print or online applications specifically meeting the customer needs.
 
BTAS provides expert advice and assistance in developing baseline and continuing Operations Security (OPSEC) programs in compliance with National Security Directive 298 (NSDD 298).
